You know her, you love her, you might have CE Spanish with her–that’s right folks, it’s your SBO president Ally Garner! This 2023-2024 year, Garner has made it a priority to put the students’ needs first! “When kids show up feeling like they have a friend to talk to, it helps them feel more comfortable being at school,” Garner says. Comfortingly she adds, she “hopes to be that friend that kids can lean on.” On top of this, Garner has some big plans for student involvement in school activities this year. “A big goal this year is to see our school get involved in activities,” she says, “which will hopefully help them have a better high school experience.”
Senior Indiana Plant (Indy by her friends) is an innovative and determined SBO that we in Weber High journalism are fortunate to have leading our team. Additionally, she provides a support system for struggling students to being a compassionate voice for diversity, in her role as SBO. Plant is a stellar person who is sure to do it all. This year, she intends to “relay a message to anybody… [that] you are safe with me!”
A senior at Weber High, McCall Dalpias is determined to “get to know a lot of new people and make this year a huge party!” This year, she will strive to put her best foot forward and make a positive impact on all Warriors, making high school a fun and safe place for her peers. One way to get to know fellow students? Cross country and track, her sports!
The next SBO is entering their senior year with an ambitious purpose. Brett Corbin is his name and breaking the Quarters and Cans record is his game. The previous greatest profit for the fundraiser was last year, when Weber made an impressive $68,000; Corbin plans to annihilate that number. With the help of all Warriors, his goal is sure to become a reality.
Big on inclusivity and savoring these last years of adolescence, senior Cole Anderson is an excellent SBO who is determined to share his energy with the whole school. He is looking forward to providing students with “lots of opportunities to help them out through the year to have the best time of their lives during high school.”
Senior Jaxon Bigler is an outgoing and amiable Weber High Warrior. Big on inclusivity, Bigler is determined to make Weber a place where “Everybody has a place.” He hopes to “help people find where they belong.” To do this, Bigler plans to demonstrate good citizenship through his actions. “The best way to lead is by example. and that’s what I’m all about!”
Lastly, Ben Petersen also wants to make a difference during his senior year. He understands the weight of words and how deep they can cut, so he plans to stop bullying by being “more conscious of other people’s feelings.” The only way to stop hate is to show people the opposite, and therefore this year it is his honor to “share the love [he has] for everyone in [his] Weber High family.”
