
SALT LAKE CITY — Authorities have arrested three individuals in connection to a deadly shooting at a downtown Salt Lake City hotel, but the suspected shooter remains unidentified and at large.
The names of the two victims, both men, have not yet been released. They were found with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Salt Lake City Police Department (SLCPD).
The suspects arrested in the case include Tiffani Papach, 40, Kendra Mitchell, 38, and Kevin Thrower, 56. According to SLCPD, Mitchell had been contacted by someone renting a hotel room for a face-to-face meeting, which quickly escalated into a dispute.
Mitchell allegedly called Papach to arrange for two men to come to the hotel as “security” following the conflict over payment. Upon arrival, one of the men was reportedly armed with a firearm, and they demanded money from the hotel renter after assaulting him. They also stole his car keys during the altercation.
During the confrontation, both men were shot and later succumbed to their injuries. Papach was charged with aggravated burglary, aggravated robbery, and obstruction of justice. Mitchell faces similar charges of aggravated burglary and robbery. Thrower was arrested for obstruction of justice, allegedly providing misleading statements to officers and attempting to cover up Mitchell’s involvement in the incident.
The police have not yet released the identity of the suspected shooter, and they continue to seek information regarding the case.

Original Incident: Fatal Shooting Under Investigation at Salt Lake Hotel
SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police are investigating a fatal shooting at a downtown hotel that left two individuals dead early Tuesday morning.
Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call just before 12:30 a.m. on the 100 block of West 500 South. On their arrival, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite attempts to administer life-saving aid, both men were declared dead at the scene.
The police department stated that, while their investigation is in the early stages, they have identified a person of interest and taken them into custody. However, authorities believe there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
The shooting is Salt Lake City’s first and second homicides of the year, according to SLCPD.
Detectives are gathering evidence, speaking with witnesses, and reviewing any digital records to piece together the circumstances surrounding the crime. Authorities have asked anyone with information to come forward.
