Driver Found Dead After Crashing Through Fence in Mt. Pleasant

In a tragic incident on Sunday, a 68-year-old man lost his life after his vehicle crashed through the fence of an auto parts store in Mt. Pleasant.

The Mt. Pleasant Police Department responded to the scene at 10 a.m. on Jan. 5 along US-89 near 900 South, where they discovered the vehicle had veered off the road and smashed through the fence. Inside, the driver was found unresponsive, slumped against the passenger door. Despite prompt life-saving efforts, authorities confirmed that he had already passed away. He was the sole occupant of the car.

Officials noted that the crash occurred at a low speed—insufficient to typically cause a fatality—suggesting that a medical emergency may have played a role in the incident. Early investigations point to a possible health issue as the trigger behind the seemingly minor collision.

The Utah Highway Patrol is currently looking into the case, with no signs of foul play detected.
