A North Salt Lake man was tragically killed in a rollover accident on Interstate 80 in Nevada earlier this week, authorities confirmed Wednesday.
The incident occurred early Monday morning around 4 a.m., when 38-year-old Ricardo Espinoza was behind the wheel of a Toyota Highlander traveling westbound on I-80, near Imlay. According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, Espinoza’s vehicle veered to the left, crossing into the center median before swerving back across the westbound lanes and ultimately rolling over on the shoulder of the highway.

Espinoza, who was not wearing a seatbelt, sustained fatal injuries in the crash. Nevada Highway Patrol officials are continuing to investigate the cause of the driver’s erratic movements leading up to the accident.
The case remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that led to the crash.
