
MILLCREEK, Utah – Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting after a person was found deceased at an apartment complex in Millcreek on Sunday evening.
According to Sgt. Aymee Race with the Unified Police Department, officers responded to the Revolve Apartments around 5 p.m. after receiving a report of a body. Upon arrival, they discovered an individual who had suffered a fatal gunshot wound.
Police deemed the death suspicious, as preliminary findings indicated the gunshot wound was not self-inflicted. As part of the investigation, five individuals were detained and brought in for questioning.
“This appears to be an isolated event, and we do not believe there is any danger to the public,” Race stated.
Law enforcement officials remained on-site to collect evidence and conduct interviews. While authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim or details regarding the five people detained, they assured that updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
“Our thoughts are with the families impacted by this tragic situation,” Race said.
Authorities have asked residents to steer clear of the area while the investigation continues. No additional information is available at this time .
