Suspect Taken Into Custody After Robbery Attempt at Salt Lake Bank
A man was arrested on Monday after attempting to rob a bank in Salt Lake City’s Rose Park neighborhood.
The incident occurred just after 9:30 a.m. when officers with the Salt Lake City Police Department were alerted to a robbery in progress. Authorities say the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Christopher Martinez, entered the bank and jumped over the counter, demanding money.

While no weapons were involved and no one was injured during the incident, Martinez managed to leave the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Later in the day, officers on patrol near 1300 South and 300 West spotted Martinez and took him into custody without further incident.
Martinez was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail and is facing charges related to the robbery.
