FDA Recalls Target Products Across 50 States: Find Out What’s Affected
Target is currently recalling five food products in response to FDA alerts regarding potential health risks. These products, sold at Target locations across the country, have been linked to allergens, contamination, and foreign object hazards, with varying degrees of severity. The following recalls are currently in effect:
- Lay’s Classic Potato Chips
On December 18, Target recalled Lay’s Classic Party-Sized Potato Chips following an FDA recall for products distributed in Oregon and Washington. The recall was issued due to undeclared milk, posing a risk to those with severe milk allergies. The affected product is the 13 oz. bag of Lay’s Classic Potato Chips. No other Lay’s products are affected by this recall. Consumers can contact Frito-Lay Consumer Relations at 1-800-352-4477 for further details. - MadeGood Granola Bars
Several MadeGood Granola Bar varieties were recalled on December 9 due to the potential presence of metal pieces in the product. The affected flavors include Chocolate Chip, Mixed Berry, Strawberry, Cookies & Crème, Chocolate Banana, and others. The metal pieces may have come from a cleaning brush used during manufacturing. Riverside Natural Foods has since taken corrective actions to prevent future occurrences and implemented improved safety procedures. Consumers should return the product to Target for a full refund. - Crazy Fresh Turkey Havarti Wheat Wrap
On December 2, Target recalled Crazy Fresh Turkey Havarti Wheat Wraps because they contained cucumbers potentially contaminated with Salmonella. The recall affects wraps and other products containing cucumbers distributed in Iowa, Illinois, and several other states. Russ Davis Wholesale, the product’s supplier, has stated that no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall. Customers can return the product to Target for a refund.

- SunFed Cucumbers
On November 28, SunFed Cucumbers were recalled from Target stores due to potential Salmonella contamination. The cucumbers were distributed across various states, including California, Florida, and New York. Although the CDC declared the outbreak over, consumers are urged to check for recalled cucumbers and return them for a refund. SunFed Produce emphasized that no Salmonella was found on the cucumbers and acted promptly to remove the product from the market. - Good & Gather Organic Carrots
On November 16, Target recalled Good & Gather Organic Carrots following a report from the CDC about potential contamination with Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (E. coli). The recall affects carrots produced by Grimmway Farms and distributed across the U.S. and Canada. The CDC linked these carrots to an outbreak that resulted in 39 illnesses and one death. Although no positive test results for E. coli were found in the products, Grimmway Farms voluntarily initiated the recall as a precaution.
Target advises customers who have purchased any of these products to return them to stores for a full refund. For more information on the recalls, consumers can reach out to the respective manufacturers or Target’s customer service.
