SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Happy Easter, Utah! The day begins with some cloud cover in northern Utah, thanks to a weak system passing through the region. While the system doesn’t bring much moisture, there’s a slight chance of a shower near the Utah-Idaho border this morning.
As the system moves out, expect clearing skies and warmer temperatures throughout the day. Highs will be around 5 degrees above average, with the Wasatch Front reaching the mid 60s and St. George seeing highs in the upper 70s. The pleasant weather will continue this afternoon before moisture begins to build back in tonight into Monday.
Monday’s Weather Outlook: Showers and Light Snowfall
Monday morning will start with a weak front bringing light showers to northern Utah, particularly focusing on the northern mountains. Minor snowfall is expected at higher elevations, but by the afternoon, the front will lift to the north, and any lingering showers should dissipate. Most valley areas will see only a few isolated showers with minimal impact.
Looking Ahead: Warmer Days and a Weak System Midweek
Tuesday will bring sunny skies and dry conditions with a steady westerly flow in place. Temperatures will continue to rise through midweek, with highs climbing 5-10 degrees above normal.
On Wednesday, another weak system will move into northern Utah, bringing the potential for light showers. Snow levels will remain around 8,000 feet, and precipitation is expected to be minimal as the system looks relatively dry.
Thursday: Active Weather Returns
By Thursday, a larger trough in the eastern Pacific will stir things up, pulling in more moisture and creating a southwest flow over Utah. This will bring showers to the northern mountains, with snow levels rising to 9,000 feet. Valley temperatures will soar into the 70s and 80s — about 15 degrees above average.
The active weather pattern could persist through the weekend, but models are still fine-tuning the details. Stay tuned for further updates as we monitor the changing forecast.
