WASHINGTON CITY, Utah – Two teenagers linked to an ongoing homicide investigation involving a California woman at a vacation rental in Southern Utah have been found, authorities confirmed.
According to the Washington City Police Department, the minors were discovered in Los Angeles County, California around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26.
“We have been informed that both individuals are in good health and unharmed,” stated Lt. Kory Klotz in an official press release. Authorities are now coordinating with law enforcement in Los Angeles County to advance the ongoing homicide case.
While the teens are not officially classified as suspects, they were identified as persons of interest due to their presence at the rental home prior to the victim’s death. Investigators noted that they were among the last individuals to see the woman alive before the tragic incident occurred.
The victim, a 47-year-old woman from California, was discovered late Sunday morning inside the rental property with multiple stab wounds. Authorities estimate the fatal attack occurred between 10 p.m. Saturday and midnight Sunday. Notably, there were no signs of forced entry, nor evidence of any additional individuals at the scene.
Authorities initially sought the teenagers to ensure their well-being and gather further details about the case.
For now, officials say there are no further updates, but they will release additional information as it becomes available.
