NORTH OGDEN, Utah — North Ogden’s chief of police, Brian Eynon, has been placed on administrative leave as an independent investigation is conducted, city officials confirmed Monday.
Eynon was placed on leave on February 12 after the North Ogden City Council received unspecified information that prompted a review. While details about the nature of the investigation have not been disclosed, officials emphasized that it is not a criminal matter and does not suggest any wrongdoing at this time.
Per city policy, placing a police chief on leave during an active investigation is standard procedure. The inquiry is being handled by an independent third party, and officials stated that further details would be provided once the process is complete.
“The Ogden City Police Department remains committed to its mission of public safety,” the city said in a statement.
Eynon has been with the department for 29 years and was promoted to chief in May 2023. His current status remains uncertain as the investigation continues .
