Utah CEO Tragically Killed in East Idaho Helicopter Crash

A tragic helicopter crash on Thursday claimed the life of Bradford Brown, 59, a respected Utah business leader. The crash occurred over the Ririe Reservoir near Idaho Falls, with emergency crews discovering the wreckage about a mile east of the dam.

Authorities confirmed that Brown, a resident of Alpine, Utah, died at the scene. Another individual on board was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officials have not yet identified the second passenger, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

A Leader in the Medical Device Industry

Brown was the CEO and founder of ATL Technology, a medical device manufacturing company based in Springville, Utah. He was also a dedicated board member for BioUtah, a non-profit organization that supports Utah’s life sciences sector.

Kelvyn Cullimore, CEO and President of BioUtah, described Brown as a visionary leader and a pillar of the industry.

“He was a dedicated family man, a skilled pilot, and an incredible advocate for the life sciences community,” Cullimore said. “His contributions were invaluable, and his loss will be deeply felt across the industry and beyond.”

Remembering Bradford Brown

ATL Technology released a statement mourning their founder’s passing, calling it a devastating loss for the company and the broader medical technology sector.

“Brad’s vision and passion built ATL into what it is today. His impact extends far beyond business—he was deeply devoted to his family, colleagues, and community,” the company’s statement read.

Brown, an experienced pilot with over 4,200 flight hours, held a degree in Medical Engineering from Brigham Young University. His love for aviation spanned decades, and he was known for his dedication both in the air and in his professional endeavors.

He is survived by his wife, Shannon, six children, and two grandchildren.
