Authorities in Logan are investigating a fatal house fire that broke out on Saturday morning, February 22. Logan Police confirmed that a woman was found deceased inside the residence after emergency crews responded to the scene.
Fire Breaks Out in Logan Home
Firefighters were dispatched at 7:45 a.m. to a home near 900 West 1000 South following reports of a structure fire. Upon arrival, crews discovered that the fire had started in a second-story room and was largely contained to that area.
Three other individuals inside the home were able to evacuate safely. While they escaped unharmed, the affected part of the house sustained significant smoke and heat damage, according to Logan Fire Department Assistant Chief Craig Humphreys.
Authorities Investigating Cause
At this time, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, and authorities have not released further details about the victim. The Cache County Attorney’s Office and Victim Advocates are assisting those impacted by the tragedy.
The Red Cross has also stepped in to provide support and resources for the displaced residents.
Authorities have asked the public to avoid the area as the investigation continues.
