A Chicago resident was attacked and robbed in broad daylight on February 10. According to police, the incident occurred around 1:17 p.m. in the 6100 block of North Avenue. The victim was leaving a business when a suspect approached from behind, struck them, and knocked them to the ground. The suspect then grabbed a bag containing cash and fled the scene. Authorities estimate the total loss at $23,761.
Construction Equipment Stolen in Burglary
Police are investigating a burglary that took place between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on February 11. An individual forced entry into two company vehicles—a 2020 Nissan 3500V and a 2016 Ford F350—belonging to Natola Concrete Inc. on the 500 block of Garfield Street. The thief made off with two gas-powered saws and a pair of hammer drills. The estimated combined loss and damages total $7,900.
Catalytic Converter Theft on Lake Street
A vehicle parked on Lake Street was targeted by thieves on February 8. Sometime between 11 a.m. and noon, an individual stole the catalytic converter from a 2013 Toyota Prius. The estimated cost of the stolen part and potential repairs is $2,900.
Arrest for Criminal Trespass
Authorities arrested an 18-year-old man from Chicago on February 10 for allegedly trespassing on a property. The arrest took place at 12:31 p.m. at 201 Madison Street.
