Utah Weather Alert: Snow & Rain Set to Hit Salt Lake City This Weekend

Salt Lake City residents should prepare for a mix of rain and snow beginning Friday, which could lead to slippery roads and colder conditions throughout the weekend.

The National Weather Service forecasts a high of around 57°F on Friday, with rain expected in the afternoon before transitioning to snow as temperatures drop to 26°F in the evening. Winds will shift from the south at 11–15 mph before turning northwest overnight.

Saturday is expected to be mostly sunny with a high of 41°F, though temperatures will dip to 24°F under partly cloudy skies by nightfall. Sunday remains cold, with clear skies and a daytime high of 39°F, while overnight lows will fall to 21°F. The trend continues into the start of the workweek, with Monday and Tuesday staying dry but cold, with highs in the upper 30s.

Commuters should be cautious, especially on Friday evening, as wet roads could become slick when temperatures drop. Bridges and overpasses may develop icy patches, making travel hazardous. Residents are encouraged to check weather updates frequently and prepare for changing conditions.
