Utah Weather Alert: Salt Lake City Faces Haze and Limited Snowfall Through Friday

Salt Lake City residents can expect a hazy start to the weekend, with hazy skies persisting through Friday morning. While sunshine will gradually break through as the day progresses, the air quality will remain a concern, particularly during the morning commute. The high temperature will hover around 41°F in the afternoon, but with light winds, there won’t be much of a breeze to alleviate the haze. The National Weather Service has issued a reminder for vulnerable groups—such as children and the elderly—to limit outdoor exposure during this period.

As the weekend approaches, cooler weather sets in, bringing a chance of snow. A light snowfall is expected to begin Friday night, with temperatures dropping to 22°F overnight. The snowfall could affect higher altitudes and areas like I-15, but no significant accumulation is anticipated, with less than an inch expected. Despite the snow, Saturday’s high will reach 31°F, though the skies will remain mostly cloudy.
