Vanessa Bryant Reveals Former Pacific Palisades Home Destroyed in LA Wildfires

Vanessa Bryant, the widow of NBA legend Kobe Bryant, made a heartfelt admission during her recent volunteer work with Baby2Baby, a non-profit organization providing emergency supplies to families devastated by the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. As part of her efforts, Bryant helped pack boxes containing $2 million worth of essentials for those impacted by the fires.

In a touching message shared on social media, Bryant, 42, revealed that she and Kobe had once called Pacific Palisades home after their marriage in 2001, only to have that very neighborhood be the location where the recent wildfires began. “We have so many beautiful memories from living in LA,” she wrote to her 15.8 million followers. “There are no words to make all the loss and devastation any better. My heart and prayers go out to everyone in LA who are affected by the fires.”

Bryant, who is actively involved with the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation, emphasized that the organization was already working to aid the LA community. She also expressed gratitude for the support Baby2Baby continues to provide, stating, “We love you, LA! We love you @baby2baby!”

As part of her volunteer efforts, Bryant signed personal notes that accompanied each package of relief supplies. Her work was praised by Baby2Baby co-CEO Kelly Sawyer Patricof, alongside celebrities like Kris Jenner, Loni Love, and Jennifer Meyer, who all offered words of encouragement.

The philanthropist and entrepreneur, often referred to as an “Angel” for her ongoing contributions to the organization, was also honored at the Baby2Baby Gala in Los Angeles last November. As she continues to carry on Kobe’s legacy, Bryant’s efforts extend beyond just her volunteer work. In two weeks, the tragic anniversary of Kobe and Gianna Bryant’s deaths in a helicopter crash will mark five years since they tragically passed away at the ages of 41 and 13, respectively.

In tribute to the late basketball icon and his daughter, the city of Los Angeles unveiled the Kobe and Gianna Bryant Memorial Statue at the Crypto.com Arena on August 2, 2023. The statue bears a special inscription from Kobe that reflects his pride in being a father to his daughters: “Gianna is a beat, and she’s better than I was at her age. She’s got it. Girls are amazing.”

Kobe’s legacy also lives on through his three surviving daughters: Natalia, 22; Bianka, 8; and Capri, 5. The family recently enjoyed a ski trip to ring in the new year, finding moments of joy amid the ongoing challenges.

Vanessa has also fought for justice in the wake of the tragic accident, securing a $28.8 million settlement in 2023 after a lawsuit against Los Angeles County. The suit stemmed from a 2022 invasion of privacy case in which it was revealed that several LA County Sheriff’s deputies had taken unauthorized photos of the crash site and shared them with others, violating the family’s privacy.

As the fires rage on in LA, with over 38,000 acres affected, the community continues to grieve as more than 12,000 structures have been destroyed. Among those impacted by the disaster are high-profile figures such as Sally Field, Mel Gibson, Paris Hilton, Jeff Bridges, and more.

The devastation has left over 6 million residents at risk, with the total damage and economic loss estimated to range between $135 billion and $150 billion. Firefighters are working tirelessly to contain the various wildfires, including the Palisades Fire, which is currently 18% contained, and the Eaton Fire in Altadena, which is 45% contained as of the latest updates.

The community’s resilience continues to shine through as families and individuals band together in the face of these overwhelming losses
