Suspect Arrested After Sleeping in Car with Drugs and Firearm
A man with multiple felony warrants was arrested after officers discovered him asleep in a car with drugs, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and stolen items.
Kenneth Colton Foote, 31, faces a range of charges, including possession of a dangerous weapon (second-degree felony), mail theft (third-degree felony), distribution of a controlled substance (class A misdemeanor), possession of controlled substances (class A and B misdemeanors), possession of another person’s identification (class A misdemeanor), possession of drug paraphernalia (class B misdemeanor), and open container violations, along with driving without registration.
The arrest occurred on Monday when Murray Police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in front of a home overnight. The caller reported seeing a man sleeping inside. Upon arrival, officers checked the vehicle’s registration, which was found to be revoked, and discovered there was no proof of insurance.

The vehicle’s owner, Foote, was found to have several outstanding felony warrants. Foote woke up and tried to leave the area, but officers pulled him over, handcuffed him, and requested his identification. Initially, Foote provided a false name, identifying himself as “Anthony” before admitting his real name as “Kenneth Foote.”
After informing Foote of the warrants for his arrest, officers searched him and found bags of cocaine, used needles, burnt tin foil, a pound of mushrooms, a firearm, and items that did not belong to him, including stolen mail and identification cards.
Foote was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on various charges.
