A tragic motorcycle crash in American Fork Canyon has claimed the life of a 17-year-old Timpanogos High School student, identified by family members as Noah Scribner.
The accident occurred on Monday, May 12, along State Route 92. According to the Utah Highway Patrol (UHP), Noah was riding a Honda motorcycle and lost control while navigating a curve. The impact of the crash reportedly caused the motorcycle’s front wheel to detach, leading to critical injuries. Despite emergency responders’ efforts, Noah was pronounced dead at the scene.
Timpanogos High School Principal Theron Murphy shared a message of condolence with the school community, expressing sorrow over the sudden loss and extending support to those affected. “Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathies are with his family and friends and to all those who knew and loved him,” Murphy stated.
Noah was nearing graduation and had plans to embark on a service mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, according to a GoFundMe page created by relatives to assist with funeral and memorial costs.
In response to the tragedy, Alpine School District officials have ensured that grief counselors are on-site at Timpanogos High School to help students and staff cope with the loss.
“We understand how deeply a loss like this can impact a school,” said Rich Stowell, Director of Communications for Alpine School District. “Our trained professionals are ready to support students and provide the resources they need during this incredibly difficult time.”
