
GRANTSVILLE, Utah— A tragic domestic violence incident unfolded in Grantsville on Wednesday morning, leaving one man dead and a woman hospitalized with serious injuries.
Authorities responded to a call shortly before 10 a.m. on April 16, arriving at a residence near West Street and Utah Drive. Upon arrival, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to the head on the front porch. The man was found deceased inside the home, also with a gunshot wound. The woman was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical care.
To assist with the investigation, the Grantsville City Police Department enlisted the help of the Tooele County SWAT team. After securing a search warrant, they were able to locate the deceased man inside the home.
Residents of the neighborhood described the scene as chaotic, with one witness comparing the situation to a “Call of Duty” video game. “It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen,” said Ashtin Holmes, a nearby neighbor. “There were so many people in camo with weapons. It was overwhelming.”
Ashly Gilson, another local resident, said she was taken aback by the situation. “I saw them a couple of days ago getting in their car, and everything seemed normal. It was shocking to see what happened.”
As of the latest update from authorities, the woman’s condition remains serious, but no new information about her health has been provided. Police have confirmed that no additional suspects are believed to be involved in the incident, and they assured the public that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
The investigation is still active, but officials have declined to release further details at this time. The Grantsville City Police Department continues to look into the circumstances surrounding this tragic event.
