SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Salt Lake City Police have shared new details about a serious collision that occurred Friday evening near 1300 South and State Street.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 6:50 p.m. on April 4 following multiple 911 calls reporting a crash involving a truck and a motorcycle. Upon arrival, officers located a woman in her 30s on the roadway with critical injuries.
According to police, the woman was immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Her condition is described as critical and potentially life-threatening.
Early reports indicate the crash occurred as a truck was making an eastbound turn onto 1300 South from State Street, while the motorcycle was heading north on State Street. Investigators say they are still working to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
Due to the severity of the incident, authorities have launched an extended investigation. Police have not yet provided an estimated timeline for when the scene will be cleared and the road reopened.
In the meantime, drivers are being urged to avoid the area. Salt Lake City Police recommend using Main Street for north and south travel and taking either 1700 South or 900 South for east-west routes.
“We appreciate the public’s patience as we work to determine what happened,” SLCPD stated.
This remains an active investigation. Further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
