SALT LAKE CITY – Utah woke up to a wintry mix on Tuesday as overnight rain transitioned into snow showers across much of the state.
Throughout the day, intermittent snowfall affected both valley and mountain regions, with northern Utah expected to see continued snow showers into the afternoon. Another system is forecasted to move in late Tuesday night into Wednesday, potentially bringing additional light snow accumulation.
A Winter Weather Advisory remains active for northern Utah’s mountain regions. The upper Cottonwood Canyons could receive between 12 to 24 inches of snow, while most northern mountain ranges are projected to accumulate 6 to 12 inches.
For areas at lower elevations, the Wasatch Back could see 2 to 6 inches, with Park City possibly exceeding 6 inches. The east Benches may accumulate 1 to 4 inches, while the Wasatch Front Valleys are expected to receive anywhere from a light dusting to 2 inches.
Looking ahead, the weather pattern is set to shift by midweek, with drier and warmer conditions on the horizon. Temperatures will climb into the upper 50s to low 60s across the Wasatch Front by the weekend, while southern Utah will enjoy highs in the 70s.
By late week, skies will clear, bringing sunshine and comfortable temperatures just in time for the weekend. Stay updated with the latest weather developments both online and on-air with your local forecast team.
