Ohio – An Andover resident, John, struck it big in the Monday, September 23, 2024, Powerball drawing, winning an impressive $150,000.
The winning ticket was purchased by John’s son at Village Tobacco, located at 62 Public Square in Andover. John selected his own numbers, successfully matching 4 out of 5 numbers plus the Powerball, earning a base prize of $50,000.
Thanks to the Power Play option, which multiplies non-jackpot prizes, John’s winnings were tripled to $150,000. The winning numbers for the drawing were 15, 21, 25, 37, and 45, with the Powerball 19 and a Power Play multiplier of 3.
“I couldn’t believe I won,” John shared. He plans to use his prize money to purchase land.
The odds of matching 4-of-5 numbers plus the Powerball are 1 in 913,129, highlighting the rarity of such a win.
The next Powerball drawing, scheduled for Saturday, December 28, 2024, boasts an estimated jackpot of $145 million.
Since its inception in 1974, the Ohio Lottery has contributed over $33 billion to support education in the state.
