Utah has cemented its place as one of the top moving destinations in the United States, ranking ninth in U-Haul’s 2024 migration report. The state climbed four spots from the previous year, reflecting a continued trend of people relocating to the South and West.
U-Haul’s annual report, based on over 2.5 million one-way truck, trailer, and moving container transactions, highlights the growing popularity of Utah as a prime moving destination. South Carolina topped the list for the first time in 2024, surpassing Texas, which has consistently ranked in the top two since 2016. Other states rounding out the top five include North Carolina, Florida, and Tennessee.
Arizona, at No. 6, led the West region, followed by Washington, Utah, and Idaho. Indiana, ranked eighth, was the only state in the top 10 outside the South and West.
Keelee McCain is a junior at Weber High School. This is her second year on staff, this year as Assistant to the Chief. She does have a life (probably) but she can't think of anything to write in here, so she's probably just going to ramble now. She has an orange cat who she likes better than any human. If you see her being quiet or not sitting on top of a desk, there is something very wrong. In her free time she enjoys harassing her favorite teachers and sleeping. Her life plans include making it through high school and leaving. Happy lifeing.
