The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has classified the recall of Noble Made Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce as a Class II recall, which means that consuming the product may cause temporary or medically reversible health effects.
Why Was the Sauce Recalled?
The recall was voluntarily initiated by Spicin Foods Inc. on February 12 after multiple customers reported that bottles were foaming upon opening. This unusual reaction raised concerns about potential microbial contamination.
While the FDA has not confirmed the presence of harmful bacteria, foaming in sealed bottles can indicate bacterial growth, including Clostridium botulinum—the bacteria responsible for botulism.
Understanding the Risk
Clostridium botulinum thrives in low-oxygen environments, like sealed jars and bottles. If present, it can produce a dangerous toxin that causes botulism, a rare but severe illness. Symptoms include:
- Weakness and dizziness
- Difficulty swallowing and breathing
- Double vision
- Abdominal swelling and constipation
- Paralysis, and in severe cases, death
Botulism cases are uncommon, with the FDA reporting about 10 outbreaks annually in the U.S., mostly from improperly canned or fermented foods.

Consumer Advisory
At this time, no illnesses have been reported related to the recalled sauce. However, the FDA strongly advises consumers who purchased the product not to use it. Instead, they should return it to the store for a full refund.
If anyone experiences botulism symptoms, they should seek emergency medical attention immediately.
