In-N-Out Burger to Open New Locations in 2025, Including Utah

UtahIn-N-Out Burger, known for its mustard-grilled burgers and iconic fountain sodas, is planning significant expansion in the coming years. The popular burger chain, which does not franchise, is set to open several new locations in 2025, including one in Utah.

Currently, In-N-Out operates primarily in the Western United States, with restaurants in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. The chain has also ventured into Texas, marking its easternmost presence. In-N-Out’s cautious growth strategy stems from the company’s commitment to maintaining quality and freshness, as each location is within a one-day drive of one of their four in-house patty-making facilities. This allows them to deliver fresh ingredients efficiently, preserving the quality of their food.

Despite its slow growth compared to other fast-food giants, In-N-Out is expanding to new states in the coming years. Planned locations for 2025 include:

  • Anaheim, California – 540 N. Euclid St.
  • Carson, California – 20512 Avalon Blvd.
  • Sylmar, California – 13864 Foothill Blvd.
  • Nampa, Idaho – 16225 N. Marketplace Dr.
  • South Salt Lake, Utah – 21 E. 2100 S.

In addition, In-N-Out is planning to expand into New Mexico, Washington, and Tennessee, with a new East Coast hub just outside Nashville. The first In-N-Out restaurant in Tennessee is expected to open in 2026, along with a new flagship location on the Las Vegas Strip. New Mexico will also see its first In-N-Out restaurant by 2027.

In-N-Out’s growth philosophy contrasts with other fast-food chains, as the company prioritizes quality and proximity to its production facilities over rapid expansion. The brand’s careful approach has contributed to its success, ensuring each location is well-supported by fresh ingredients.

While In-N-Out is expanding, the company has remained committed to its existing locations. In 2024, the company closed one of its restaurants in Oakland, California, due to ongoing safety concerns related to crime. The location was profitable, but the company emphasized that the safety of its employees and customers is their top priority. Employees from the Oakland location were offered severance packages or the opportunity to transfer to other In-N-Out restaurants.

Despite the occasional closure, In-N-Out has remained dedicated to its mission of providing high-quality, fresh food in a safe environment for customers and staff. As the company continues to expand, fans can look forward to more locations across the country, starting with those slated to open in 2025.
