ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah — A rockslide in Zion National Park has led to the temporary closure of a roadway in the eastern section of the park, officials confirmed on Monday, Feb. 24.
Park officials reported that the rockslide took place near Big Bend. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.
“We’ve shut down Zion Canyon Scenic Drive for now,” a park ranger stated. “Visitors staying at the lodge are still allowed access, but the rest of the road is closed while our team conducts an assessment.”
Authorities are still working to determine the full scale of the rockslide and any potential hazards it may pose. Additional details are expected as assessments continue .
