GREEN RIVER, WY – A devastating multi-vehicle crash occurred inside the westbound tunnel on Interstate 80 in Green River, Wyoming, prompting authorities to classify it as a “mass casualty incident.”

At approximately 11:40 a.m. on February 14, Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers responded to reports of a major collision at milepost 90.2 on westbound I-80. Officials have confirmed that at least two fatalities have resulted from the incident, with further investigations underway to determine the full extent of the casualties.
A fire remains active at the crash site, intensifying the dangers for first responders. Authorities report that due to the extreme heat from the fire, vehicle tires are exploding, adding to the hazardous conditions.
