A 7-year-old girl is fighting for her life at Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City after surviving a tragic family shooting in Wyoming that left her three sisters dead.
Authorities believe 32-year-old Tranyelle Harshman is responsible for the deadly shooting, which took place Monday afternoon. Investigators say Harshman allegedly shot all four of her daughters before attempting to take her own life. While three of the children succumbed to their injuries, 7-year-old Olivia survived and was rushed to Utah for critical medical care.
A GoFundMe campaign launched for the family states that Olivia suffered severe brain trauma and remains in critical condition as doctors fight to save her.
The Big Horn County Sheriff’s Office responded to the incident around 1:30 p.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman inside the home. According to officials, the caller—later identified as Harshman—reported that her daughters had been shot and stated she was about to turn the gun on herself.
When authorities arrived at the scene, they discovered three of the children deceased and Olivia gravely injured. Harshman was also found alive and is now under investigation for the horrific act.
Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
