Two men were taken into custody after allegedly chasing multiple victims during a road rage incident, with one suspect reportedly brandishing a firearm.
Jeffrey Alan Evans, 37, and Allen Logan Hileman, 29, were arrested in connection to the confrontation, which unfolded near an apartment complex.
Incident Details
According to police reports, the victims called authorities after they were pursued by a man armed with a handgun—later identified as Evans. It remains unclear what initially sparked the altercation.
The victims stated they were in a parking lot when Evans exited a vehicle and began shouting at them. Moments later, he retrieved a black handgun and pointed it in their direction, prompting them to flee in their vehicle.
As they sped away, Evans reportedly ran after them on foot, gun in hand, before getting into a car driven by Hileman to continue the pursuit. The victims attempted to escape by running a red light, but the suspects followed suit before eventually breaking off the chase.
Investigation and Arrests
Authorities later located the suspects’ vehicle in the same parking lot where the initial confrontation occurred. When questioned, both allegedly denied involvement and initially claimed no firearm was used. However, officers discovered that Evans had been living in a van nearby, where a stolen handgun was later recovered.
Further investigation revealed that Evans had prior felony convictions preventing him from legally possessing a firearm, along with a documented history of attempting to evade arrest.
