The Phoenix Suns pulled off a stunning 135-127 overtime victory against the Utah Jazz on Friday night, fueled by Devin Booker’s season-high 47 points and a clutch performance from Grayson Allen.
With 0.8 seconds remaining in regulation, Allen drilled a deep 3-pointer from the right wing off an inbounds pass, forcing overtime at 122-122. He then opened the extra period with another three, sparking an 8-0 Suns run that helped them break a three-game losing streak.
Jazz Fight Back, But Suns Respond
The Suns appeared to have control, leading 111-98 with 5:31 left in regulation. However, Utah roared back, going on a 13-0 run to tie the game. The Jazz even took a 120-116 lead with just 4.7 seconds left, but Allen’s late-game heroics delivered two massive 3-pointers to complete Phoenix’s improbable comeback.
Allen finished the night with 21 points, connecting on seven triples.
Key Performances
For Utah, John Collins led the way with 21 points, while Lauri Markkanen added 20. Isaiah Collier contributed 15 points and 13 assists, making history by recording the most assists in a half by a Jazz rookie.
The Jazz played without key guards Jordan Clarkson and Collin Sexton, while the Suns were missing Kevin Durant (ankle) and Bradley Beal (toe). Additionally, Cody Martin and Vasa Micic were unavailable after being acquired in a trade with Charlotte.
Booker Shines in Extended Minutes
Booker was dominant, logging 49 minutes and shooting an impressive 18-of-33 from the field. He set the tone early, scoring 22 points before halftime, including a late push that tied the game at 55-55 before the break.
The Jazz will look to bounce back when they face the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
