Jazz Bounce Back with 113-99 Win Over Magic to End Losing Streak

The Utah Jazz ended their eight-game losing streak with a 113-99 win over the Orlando Magic on Saturday. Collin Sexton led the way with 22 points, while John Collins added 19 in the crucial victory, Utah’s first since January 12.

Sexton also contributed seven assists, and Walker Kessler was a force on the boards, grabbing 15 rebounds. Lauri Markkanen had a solid all-around performance, recording 12 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks.

Orlando’s Franz Wagner had a standout game, scoring 37 points and making a career-high 18 free throws. Cole Anthony chipped in 23 points for the Magic, who have now lost six straight road games and eight of their last nine.

The Magic briefly cut into the Jazz’s lead in the second quarter, narrowing the gap to 39-35 with three consecutive baskets from Anthony, Paolo Banchero, and Jett Howard. However, Utah quickly regained control, with Sexton leading a 15-3 run that stretched their advantage to 54-38 before halftime.

Throughout the second half, Utah maintained a comfortable double-digit lead. Banchero struggled, shooting just 4 of 19 from the field and finishing with nine points, following a disappointing 1-of-14 performance against Portland the previous week.

Collins, who has been effective since returning from injury, showcased his offensive efficiency, shooting over 56% from the field in three of his last four games.

Utah dominated in the paint, outscoring Orlando 16-0 in the first quarter and opening the game with a 24-11 lead. Collins was instrumental early, contributing with dunks and a three-point play.

The Jazz will be back in action Monday night at 7:00 p.m. when they host the Indiana Pacers.
